| Academic Achievement |
Studied Bachelor of Commerce (B.com) course in Vivekananda College, Madras during 1980-83. Secured 18 th rank in the University of Madras.Secured 75% of marks. Awarded merit scholarship in all the three years of study.
Studied Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) course in the Madurai Kamaraj University, during 1983-85. Secured 72% of marks. Awarded the president of India scholarship for best performers of India Universities.
Conducted a project about integrated approach to rural lending in the Indian Overseas Bank, Rural credit Division, Madurai. Assisted in the survey on use of biogas for house hold purposes.

Public Sector Experience |
I worked as Assistant Manager (Finance) in the Hindusthan Photo Films (A Public sector undertaking), Ooty,where I was involved in drawing up the budget of the company, monitoring expenditure and preparing proposals for future expansion. The also helped me to understand the strength and weakness of public sector, the challenges they face due to opening up of markets and the steps that need to be taken to revitalise the sector. As I was associated with implementation of expansion plans, I could understand the challenges in project Management.
Selection to Indian Police Service (IPS), in 1989 upon a nation-wide selection test involving 0.1 million plus candidates, of whom 800 were selected.
Underwent High Quality Professional Training at National Police Academy, Hyderabad, for two years during 1989-91.

I have attended one week training programme on Leadership and Motivation at the Institute of Management, Trivandrum, during January, 1996; one week Computer Application in Management course at the Institute of Technology Management at Mussorie; apart from one week Orientation course for A.P.Police Officers by National Police Academy, during January, 1997.

International Exposure |
|
Volunteered for deputation to the united Nations International Police Task Force in Bosnia - Herzegovina, during March 1996, and March 1997, as one among the 78 members of the Indian contingent. It gave me an opportunity to interact with Police Officers belonging to 36 different countries and to know the policing practices in different countries.

Publications and other works |
I have written an article on 'need for career Planning among students' which was published in the Competition Master Journal. I have written 3 articles.
(1) Tribal Cultural and Sports meet - a new approach to Police Public relations,
(2) United Nations International Police Task Force- and opportunity for learning, and
(3) Use of Computers at Leadership Level, which were published in the A.P Police journal

I have taken interest in the study of the Bhagavatgeetha, Ramayana and Mahabharata. Generally, reading books relating to the National Leaders and issues of national interest has been my hobby.
