Eventhough Sourashtrans first migrated from Somnathpuram, they do not consider "Somnathar" as their Community Deity. They considered "Tirupathi Venkatachalapathy" as their Community Deity. They were mostly Vadakalai Vaishnavas. Recently, Daitya Sudham temple situated near Somnath temple is hypothesised to be the Community Deity of Sourashtrans. Opposite to Somnath temple, at 3 farlong distance is situated Thakore temple. The 14th generation of Thakore's (Sompura Brahmins) are working as priests in this temple. The ancestors of the Thakore's discovered the deity of Lord Vishnu from the Earth and worshipped. The deity is made out of stone. In contrast to the South Indian Vaishnava tradition, the Vishnu holds the Sudharsana Chakra in his left hand. In Alagarkoil which is situated near Madurai, the deity of Lord Vishnu is in standing position and is worshipped by all Sourashtrans residing in Madurai.
